A Septembre ce « Remembre »

There is no verb “se remembre” in French. Our English verb “to remember” can be translated as either “se souvenir” or “se rappeler” depending upon context. “Se rappeler” is to recall facts such as je rappel mon mot de passe“ (I remember my password) but “se souvenir” is to recall something deeper, more emotional such as je me souviens de la première fois que j’ai vu Paris“ (I remember the first time I saw Paris). Je Souviendrai  ce Septembre

It has been, to say the least, “interesting” – in a good way – but not in a pictorial way. Consequently there are no images to attract your interest; and this will be (for you I am sure) mercifully brief. No boring accounts of shopping expeditions, bureaucratic entanglements, interesting (to me) encounters, or even things medical (although both Bonny and I have had dental contretemps) in a word: boring. Yet, and yet this September will be, for me, something of a souvenir; and I promise I will be doing my best to record activities in images for you to enjoy as we celebrate the anniversary of our arrival in France last October 15th and our twenty-seventh anniversary in Menton on the 18th!

À bientôt
